In October 2011 we received an exhilarating email by Andrew R.:

I have researched a number of highly successful up and coming contemporary architects with world- wide acclaim, and feel that the work of NL Architects exemplifies the vision I have in mind for my future home.

Andrew R. is a well known Canadian entrepreneur and investor, co-founder of a revolutionary online software company, and of a provider of online casual games and fantasy sports.

Andrew purchased a property in Del Ray Beach, Florida and planned to replace the existing 12,000 square foot mansion with a smaller home of 8,000 and guest house of 4,000 square foot.

“I would like to have built for me a unique home that reflects the achievements and success of my business endeavors”.

Clearly a potential dream assignment; we immediately started drawing… we prepared a ‘sketchbook’ that intended to catalyze the design process. All proposals took the required pool as starting point. It occurred to us that most pools, however enjoyable, are just fairly standard, lack imagination, their design surprisingly uninspired… There is a world to win!

Kleiburg x 2?

The first 100 apartments of Kleiburg went on sale last week. Over 90 apartments have already been claimed! Although it is just the first phase, it seems that the project is so popular and successful that we should start considering doubling De Flat: Kleiburg times two?

Work

In 2012 we received 2080 request for internships and work placements: 5,7 each day! Guus and Kimo almost have a full time job answering the applications… we could take 23 people on-board.
